Mission Statement

The mission of the Parks and Recreation Committee and Department is to offer our residents diversified programs for leisure pursuits while providing safe and playable parks and athletic fields for passive and active recreation.

Expand sports clinics, family concert/movie night series, Memorial Day ceremony, Science, rocket and radio control camps, teen trips and activities.

In coordination with the recreation committee create a 5-7 year master plan for our five parks in order to improve their appearance. Using the township master plan as an agenda create a vision which will include cost estimates and funding sources.

Complete a 5-7 Year Recreation Program and Service Master Plan:

The recreation committee will proceed with a close examination of what programs and services are now being offered directly through the Department of Parks and Recreation. From this examination programs will each have a history, present need assessment, future development or retirement. Each program will have a facility support assessment. Programs and services will include: Youth, Teen, Adult, Senior Citizen, Special Events, Therapeutic Recreation, passive, active, cultural and performing arts, park/athletic field/indoor facility availability.

A review of what programs and services are now being offered by non-profit, for profit, youth organizations, Board of Education and volunteer organizations. This information creates a present day picture of who is offering leisure services.

Sports Activities

Township sports and sport clinics for children are offered by various non-profit volunteer organizations. These sports include baseball, softball, track, soccer, football, cheerleading, lacrosse, basketball, ice hockey, rugby and wrestling.

Sports for adults include men's basketball, men's soccer, men's softball indoor badminton, intramural co-ed adult volleyball, women's basketball and women's softball. Again, these sports are run by volunteer non-profit organizations.

Please note:  No Dogs are allowed on Township Fields or in Township Parks.
