Washington Township's new website will go live later Wednesday, April 17 or early Thursday, April 18. The address of the new website will be the same. The site should not be unavailable for more than a few minutes if at all. The new website will have the same content but it may be in a different location, for instance volunteer committees will be found in the menu under local government.

The 2019 Municipal Budget was adopted by the Township Committee at its April 15 meeting. The municipal tax levy will increase about 1.2% and taxes for the average home assessed at about $436,000 will increase 1.5%, less than $30, over 2018. The full budget can be viewed here. measles I   The Washington Township Health Department would like to make residents aware that although some surrounding areas are experiencing cases of measles approaching epidemic numbers there have been no cases of measles currently reported in Washington Township or its immediate neighboring communities. Though no cases have been currently reported, the Health Department would like to share information on measles and the vaccine that is currently available to protect against this disease. The NJ Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) has announced 2 programs:

 

(1) Residents looking to buy their first home, NJHMFA offers $10,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance, which can provide the resources buyers need to complete the purchase and open the door to their new home in the community.  FLYER

(2) A new state housing counseling initiative can help residents who are in danger of losing their homes.  Homeowners must reach out for this free program within 60 days  of receiving a foreclosure notice.  FLYER
